The Wagazine, March 2026
Fresh Air, Fresher Fur
Spring is slowly waking up.
The days are getting longer, the sidewalks are drying out, and pets everywhere are ready to spend more time outside again. After a long winter of snow, short walks, and cozy nights inside, March is the perfect time to reset routines and prepare for a more active season ahead.
This month in The Wagazine, we’re talking about spring shedding, getting back outdoors with your pets, and a small preview of what’s coming next for the For the Fur community this spring.
Shedding Season Is Coming
As the weather warms and daylight hours increase, many pets naturally begin to shed their winter coats.
This is completely normal — but it can quickly lead to fur on furniture, blankets, and just about everywhere else.
A simple grooming routine can make a big difference.
Here are a few easy ways to stay ahead of shedding:
• Brush your pet more frequently as temperatures rise
• Wash their bedding regularly
• Keep coats refreshed between baths
Applying a Daily Fur Mist throughout the day can also help maintain a healthier coat while keeping your pet smelling fresh.
Many pet parents like to apply a light mist:
• Before brushing in the morning
• After outdoor walks or playtime
• Before bedtime while relaxing at home
A little routine now can save a lot of fur later.
Getting Back Outside
Spring is one of the best seasons for pet parents.
Parks start filling up again, sidewalks feel lively, and longer walks become part of the daily routine.
As you spend more time outside, a few small habits can help keep pets comfortable and clean:
• Check paws after muddy walks
• Brush coats after trips to the park
• Keep fresh water nearby for longer adventures
• Refresh coats with a light Daily Fur Mist after activity
These small habits keep pets feeling comfortable while making the transition from winter to spring a little smoother.
We’re Taking For the Fur Outside
As the weather warms up, we’re planning to spend more time with the fur-fam in the real world.
This spring we’re exploring the idea of Philadelphia park meetups where pet parents can gather, walk together, and spend time outdoors with their pets.
We’re also hoping to do things like:
• Free product samples
• Casual street interviews with dog walkers
• Group walks (or runs) through the park
• Community fundraising moments for local rescues
If you see us out there, don’t be shy — we’d love to meet you and your pets.
More details will be coming soon.
A Quick Spring Reminder: Tick Season Is Starting
With warmer temperatures and more outdoor activity, early spring is also when tick activity begins to increase in many parts of the country.
Ticks become active when temperatures consistently reach around 40–45°F, which means they can appear earlier than many people expect.
As walks get longer and parks get busier, it’s a good idea to start building a quick post-walk routine.
After outdoor adventures:
• Check around your pet’s ears
• Look through thicker areas of fur
• Check paws and under collars
• Brush coats after walks
Catching ticks early can make a big difference.
Next month in April’s Wagazine, we’ll be sharing a deeper guide on how to check pets for ticks and protect them during peak outdoor season.
Spring Starts Here
March is that in-between moment when winter fades and outdoor adventures begin again.
Longer walks, fresh air, and a little extra grooming go a long way in helping pets transition comfortably into the new season.
And if you happen to see us in the park soon…
Come say hi.
